Hello Garmin 2820 users

The 2820 is discontinued, but some still available in refurbs. For those of you that have them how do you like them. I have a 2720 but interested in how well the mp3, blue tooth, weather fetures work. How much mp3 minutes to you get.

Joe? I know you're looking at trading your 2820 for a Zumo so why?

Re: Hello Garmin 2820 users

Actually, I'm probably just going to keep the 2820 for my wife ... or for my cage, and just buy the Zumo 550 next Spring.

Having said that ... I love the 2820, period. I just wish you could send the phone audio to the Bluetooth output and all the rest of the audio to the 3.5mm output jack (the way you can on the 550). That IS the only flaw with the 2820.

As far as weather and traffic, I won't be renewing those features next year when it's time to resubscribe to XM. I just don't use those features.

You can put about 1 Gig of music on the 2820. Doing some quick math ... that's about 20 CDs or so, I guess.

Re: Hello Garmin 2820 users

I like mine. It's nicely integrated and easy to use. MP3 space varies depending on your map revision and other things you may have loaded -- I have over 600MB for mp3s. No battery to take off bike and no way to plug in SD cards. Otherwise, what's not to like. Posts should start showing up below to check out other opinions.

My 2cents.....Went from a 2610 to the 2820 to keep the same footprint mount for all my bikes. I also use a Bluetooth helmet headset on all bikes. The Bluetooth function works seamlessly and consistently as do the MP3 & XM features. Better touch screen than the older models.
