Magellan Warranty complaints?

Under the advisement of a third party warranty provider from Ebay, it was suggested I send my Crossover to Fr. Worth for replacement, which was in the last week of warranty when I called to inquire about my unit not working properly. I just realized tonight I forgot to remove my SD card and was going to see if I could contact Magellan, when I came across more than one link stating the people never got ANY product back after sending a unit in for warranty.

Anyone have a more positive experience with Magellan warranty?

I haven't ever dealt with Magellan. That is what sucks about going with big company's warranties. I bought my Zumo through Best Buy and got their extended warranty. That way if anything happens to it, I can take it to any store and get another one. Except now they don't carry it anymore, so I will have to get it shipped to me

My ample experience (soooooooo many hours) with Thales and any aspect of service is uniformly poor. Final straw ... the service department (Texas address) ate my software upgrade permanently and never replaced a thing. Investment to rework it all I just couldn't see doing -- it's hours for the simplest thing. I fixed them -- never bought another navigator or product from them. I'm aware that many enjoy their products -- and when they work, all is good. I still have one RM700 that works fine (but can't be upgraded.) But regrettably, they break, and that's when you want to know Garmin. Good luck -- maybe you'll get back the SD card, but, based on my experience, don't count on it.
