Question Outgoing Calls Not Working Through GPS

I did the appropriate searches and don't see an answer to this question:

2005 K1200LT w/Baehr intercom (the LT-specific version), Zumo 550 GPS, and a typical cell phone. All audio functionality is via cables (i.e., no BlueTooth connections to or from the Baehr). Before I installed the GPS I was able to make and receive phone calls. With the GPS installed (using BlueTooth between the GPS and the phone) I can receive calls and both parties can talk. I can make outgoing calls and I can hear the other party but they can't hear me.

Any suggestions, tips, or tricks?

The zumo mount has a second socket that is for the mic.

Do you have something plugged into that socket? If not, that may solve your problem.

Sounds like a bt issue between the Zumo and the phone. I know my 550 is fully functional with some phones, and is less so with others, although your problem is not one I've experienced.

Which software version is your Zumo running?

Re: Outgoing Calls Not Working Through GPS

I'd suggest searching or perhaps posting this question on the Zumo forum, www.zumoforums.com as well.

It seems that since you can talk normally on incoming calls that it's not a hardware problem.

There are a ton of posts on the Zumo forum about updating the Bluetooth firmware on the GPS. Most say it helps, a few say otherwise. I know it helped fix a problem I had with my phone disconnecting for no reason. You might want to try that IF you don't have the latest Bluetooth firmware already.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll check these out - particularly helpful is the link to the Zumo site. When I get back in a couple of days I'll look into it.

I'm trying to figure out why you didn't feel it necessary to give us the make, model, and carrier of your cell phone. I think that's about the most important piece of information at this point.
