Nav I to Laptop

Anyone know how to hook up the standard cable from Garmin to a PC? Just got mine in the mail and can't figure how or where the 9-pin female plug on the PC end connects?
Thanks

Re: Nav I to Laptop

Sounds like a standard serial connector. Unless your laptop has some age on it, you're probably not going to find a serial port. You'll need to buy a port replicator. It will plug into a USB (itself actually a serial port) port and provide you with standard 9 pin serial port(s).

The 9 pin bit is a for an old serial port and if you have a fairly new lapdog it probably does not have one. ;-(

Something like This should do what you require. There may be cheaper ones but they may not work as well and it can also depend on your lapdig.

Re: Nav I to Laptop

Have same issue here...

I found this sweet thing on eBay... should be here today in mail actually

Single Cable USB to Garmin 4 Pin Round connector. Under 20 bucks.. and eliminates the need for an additional adapter plug.
