Zumo 550 & Sunlight

I've got a chance on a really good deal on a Zumo 550, but I've heard from a couple of sources in bright sunlight it washes out. If that is the case, then I'm not really interested. Any Zumo users want to sing out here?

Thanks in advance.

Get a sunshade

From ADVRider:

One thing I learned after meeting up with the Gadget Guy. The screen is not supposed to be angled so that it is point toward your face. The GPS should be positioned so it is pointing toward your chest. At this angle, I have never had an issue.

Re: Zumo 550 & Sunlight

Steve, I had not heard the advice that Dan mentions, but I have been using my Zumo for the past few months with no issues. In direct sunlight the screen can be tough to see, but I don't expect any screen to be visible in direct sunlight. Hopefully you already knew that the display's brightness is adjustable.

I'll try Dan's suggestion.

+1

I have no problem seeing mine in bright sunlight. It's more readable by far than the LCD display on my LT

I have had mine for well over a year and have never had a problem reading it in any conditions including bright direct sunlight.

No problem here either. Just wish they would have made it so you can copy offroad tracks. Then it would be a good GPS
