Zumo 450 - can't hear it on Autocom
I'm feeding an Autocom Active-7 and the audio is barely detectable at 100% setting. So do I have a problem unit or are the Zumo's just that way?
Many of the interface problem threads are talking about muting, Bluetooth and cell phones. I don't use a cell phone on the bike. I don't have Bluetooth. What I have is a 3.5mm Autocom plug and a 3.5mm Zumo jack. Why is it again I can't plug it in and hear the Zumo audio?
Whining and complaining out of the way, the Zumo 450 is a wonderful box if you don't need the Bluetooth and sat weather. The price is right too - $399 at amazon.com. Would be nice to hear the NAV voice and MP3's though....
(later) I guess I maybe answered my own question with some further research. Autocom web page says that Zumo's don't work with pre-2006 Autocoms. So they sell you this vastly overpriced cable ($85). What does this cable do? impedance transformer? Isolation? Balanced to unbalanced? If I knew I could fix it myself (35 years of EE experience).
