Skywatch VS Master Mariner

I have attempted to contact XM and cannot seem to get a satisfactory answer. I currently subscribe to XM Weather on my GXM-30/478 at50 bucks a month.

I recently viewed their weather offerings after meeting another rider at the dealer that uses a product called Skywatch.

The traditional green/yellow/orange/red etc animated NEXRAD weather appears on the Skywatch product and what appears to be the same display, with ANIMATION, but the pictures are different. I'm guessing, looking at the charts for the 2 products that they are differerent in that they are called something different.

Any help here...9.99 per month a heckuva lot better, but seems the data on Skywatch may be dated/older. Anyone know for sure?

Answering My Own Thread

Here's the URL for the details:http://www.xmwxweather.com/xmwx-data/data-products.html

But, the quick and dirty answer is, 5-minute updates vs 15 minute updates, plus a lot of stuff on the Master Mariner not needed for a vehicle.

Re: Skywatch VS Master Mariner

I guess it all boils down to how bad you want/need your weather information. I just go by weather.com before I leave and check NOAA weather on my CB every so often. I'm too cheap to pay for weather data.
