She won't talk to me anymore...

My GPS, that is. I have a BMW Nav III Plus and recently installed the Garmin update download from Nov, '07. I've checked the settings (not on Mute, volume set all the way up), but still nothing. Any thoughts on a fix? Thanks.

How do you normally hear the audio?

I usually use Bluetooth and the update included Bluetooth firmware updates. It took 3 tries for the Bluetooth update to complete for me -- this happens the first time you start the Nav III after the update. After running for a bit you'll see a little box at the bottom that says "Updating Bluetooth Firmware" or something like that. It kept getting stuck at 45% for me. I had to shut the unit off and try again 3 times before it finished. Then I had to pair all my Bluetooth devices again, the update threw out all the pairings.

If you use a wired connection, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe try it with the cigarette lighter adapter + speaker thingy in your car and see if you hear anything there?

I also happened to install some different voices during this update, they're additional options. I like the Australian Female voice (Karen?) a lot. She sure messes up all the Spanish street names around here!

Re: She won't talk to me anymore...

Thanks for the info. I use the wired connection, so maybe I'll just give a call to Garmin support and see what they say.
