Nav III and LT 09 Question

I have an 09 LT with the Nav wires coming out of the steering column. I also just got a Nav III and hooked it up with no problem.

The question is on the voice navigation. Should I be hearing the voice from the navigation thru the sterio speakers without any additional hardware. I have adjusted the SPEAK on the GPS, but cant get any voice. I don't have the comm installed.

Re: Nav III and LT 09 Question

Pretty sure it will have to come thru a comm system or blue tooth helmet setup.

Re: Nav III and LT 09 Question

The Nav III outputs go though the Voice II (com system) on the driver's headset only. At least that's how it works on my '06.

Re: Nav III and LT 09 Question

Agreed. NAV III sound goes to driver head set only. I never have heard it on the stereo speaker. I think that voice might freak nearby riders and drivers, and in Boston, it would be frowned upon, just like signalling is. It would give away your intentions.

Re: Nav III and LT 09 Question

thanks for the info guys. You would have thought that either the Nav III guys or the BMW dealership would be able to tell you this. Instead, they say talk to the dealer or the dealer says talk to the Nav III people.
