Is there any way

I got a Garmin SPIII with the bike when I bought it in January. Is there a way to enter Lat and Long on the North American City Navigator software? I see places put their Lat and Long in their web pages, but how does one enter it either on the PC software or the GPS for that matter? Or will SP III even let me do that?

Steve

Google maps will let you search by coordinates.

Disregard this because it applies to newer streetpilots.

You can enter coordinates on the unit by touching Where To > My Locations > Coordinates > Enter Position.
You can browse to locations by coordinate on the unit itself. Use Where To > My Locations > Coordinates > Browse Map.
I found a manual online and it doesnt appear you can do it on the SP III, but I remember there was a way. Possibly by 'browsing' the map with a pointer. If that doesn't work, it might be time to upgrade to one of the newer units.

On the mapping software use View > Go to position (or Ctrl-T). You can then save it as a waypoint and export it to the unit.

My thoughts exactly Randy. Getting that past the CFO has been a real problem for the last couple of years. I was lucky John Rehder sold the GPS with his bike or I'd still be without a one.

I understand. In the mean time, you could find by coordinates in Mapsource, then transfer them as waypoints to the SP III.
