NUVI 250W Hook-Up

I want to use my NUVI on my R1200RT and would like to power it up similar to the BMW Zumo using the built in power connector. Can I buy the cord that connects from the GPS to the BMW connector or is that an alternate choice? I wold prefer to use the BMW power connector rather that the canbus plug for a cleaner look. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: NUVI 250W Hook-Up

I am using a Nuvi 360 ( very similar). Yes, you can cut the 12V plug from the cord that comes with the Nuvi, and connect it to a 12 volt sourc such as what comes off the GPS plug by the battery. l Put a fuse in line in case the Nuvi shorts out. It seems that the Nuvi can accpet up to 12V. There is a voltage reducer in the plug.
I use the Nuvi with its own mount attached to a bike mount with a flat plate I drilled a hole thru the Nuvi mount to attach it to the flat plate. You can see my mounting on Pirates Lair site under the new GT. I am sure you can do similar for your bike.
