Re: 2001 k1200 lt gps

Nobody replied yet and I am certain some one will help you out. If the maps are old it will be ok on highways and country roads but not much good in the city's due to the ever changing construction of roads, map updates from BMW will cost a lot and probably will not be up to date, I dont know if they can be updated as they are no longer used IMHO I would probably replace it with a modern GPS
I have a mate with one I will try to get hold of the manual if no one can help you, send me a PM and I will contact him

Probably a Garmin Steet Pilot. Go to This Page on Garmin's website, click on the unit that looks like yours and download the manual. That should get you started. You can also check to see what updates are available for it. Hope this helps.

Re: 2001 k1200 lt gps

this will be the gps he is probably referring to. it was a european GPS option here in OZ at least, that I am familiar with but have not used. I personally wouldnt spend any money on it as I have already stated

Re: 2001 k1200 lt gps

I , only just today picked up my 2001 K1200LT and found myself in the exact same situation. A older style GPS with no manual to give even the smallest hint of what can actually be done with this thing. I doubt i would spend any money to update it, but i wouldn't mind knowing how to use it. Maybe if we both keep an eye out on this site, someone might post some info.

Re: 2001 k1200 lt gps

If I remember correctly that is just a display head. The main "guts" are in one of the side cases and may have been removed for space.
