Re: iWay 500 price check

That looks like a great deal. Are these new units? Wondering if you can listen to the mp3 player while navigating?

Cheapest new unit I could find is $279

Re: iWay 500 price check

Thanks Neil:

This is a used one but has all the stuff that comes with a new unit. The MP3 player through the iWay speaker is so so according to reviews. Not sure what it would be like through an intercom.

Re: iWay 500 price check

Raffy,

Are you selling them or did you find them elsewhere on the web?

I've had mine for a few of years and it works great. I've even had pretty decent service from the Iway. The HD died and the replaced it for $100.

I might be interested in picking up a second unit at that price.

Re: iWay 500 price check

I found one used for that price. If you want it, let me know and I'll PM you the link from another forum (you may have to join the forum to PM the guy).

The speaker built in to the cigarette lighter plug is below average for music, but fine for voice instructions. I've used it in rental cars with no problems.

On a bike, the direct wire power cord has a standard 3.5" stereo output plug. I run that through my Baehr intercom with no problems. It doesn't sound as good as my iPod, but is OK for music on a bike.

So for music I use the iPod, and I keep the iWay loaded with audio books and a few music files as a backup.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
