Best Price for new GPS Garmin 2730 or 2820

The wife has agreed that I can upgrade my 2610 to a new one with the XM Radio and NavTraffic. We have NavTraffic in our Avalanche and like it.
She wants the 2610 for her real estate business and since I travel around the country on the bike, she agreed that the additional capabilities of the newer units would be useful to me. I am thinking that the 2820 with Bluetooth is what I want. Having the phone tied into the touch screen would be nice and the wife like the idea that I can receive the call while traveling instead of at fuel stops.

Now the test is finding it for the right price. Anyone know of a bargain, shout it out. I am in the market. I'm not in a hurry though, my next big trip is next Memorial Day or there about. It's North to Alaska with my baby. (My LT of course)

warning...dangerous for internet shoppers

http://www.cnet.com

then click on the tab for "compare prices"

you can select by category (so if you're looking for a laptop, or an mp3 player, or digital camera, whatever, you can get independent reviews, ranknigs by editor reviews and user input, whatever), or if you know the item specifically, enter it in the search box

pop in Garmin 2730, hit enter

then when the table pops up, click over on the right hand side under TOTAL COST and it will sort by the lowest TOTAL price, including available rebates, shipping, and applicable tax...notice the column to the left that indicates if it's in stock.

If you are happy, click the price and it takes you right to that vendor's website where you need to be to purchase the item.

Depending on the item, that 90-second process can allow you to "comparison shop" between 15 and as many as 150 stores with five or six clicks of the mouse. Most of the time I end up with prices cheaper than I'd find on EBay for things with the bonus of real warranty and return service. It's how I got my 2730 last month.

(remember, the new Zumo and the 2720 and the 28xx series does NOT include the separate xm antenna that lists at $249, which is pre-packaged with the 2730...)

---for grins, I just did this for the 2730, took 60 seconds and you can get one at three places for under $710 now (bastards, I paid $730!!!)

I've had good luck with both purchase and warranty issues at the below company. Got turned on to them by "messenger13" when he setup a group purchase of 2610's.

I find www.pricegrabber.com to be useful for researching the prices of various items online. You do have to be enter the entire name of the item (for example you have to use Garmin Streetpilot 2730 and not just Garmin 2730). The user feedback information seems to be a little better than CNET's. YMMV

I like to use Nextag to bargain shop. You can enter the item you are looking for and the n your zip and they will give you a "to your door" price from many retailers. Here's the 2730:

Talking New Garmin 2820

Just recieved my 2820 direct to my door from Costco for $690.49. ($679 + $11.49 shipping) Go to Costco.com and take a look. They were running a special and knocking $120 off the regular price of $799.
