Garmin 2730 "unbundled" and Zumo "bundle"

I've had my eye on the 2730 since it was introduced. Garmin includes the GXM-30 (XM radio) antenna in the price. When the 2820 came out, it had the same features, plus Bluetooth, with a lower price. That surprised me until I realized that the 2820 does not include the antenna. If you want XM signal, you have to buy the antenna separately.

Then Garmin announced the Zumo. Like the 2820, it has the XM interface, but the antenna is not included.

I checked the www.getfeetwet.com website today to see the latest prices, and whaddyaknow? They are selling exclusive packages. You can get the 2730 without the antenna, and you can get the 2820 with the antenna bundled. They are also offering pre-orders on the Zumo, with a GXM-30 antenna bundle. So, you can have it any way you want.

I was a little surprised that the price of the 2730 without the antenna was not as low as I would have hoped, especially in light of the cost the antenna sold separately. I think you only save about $75 by omitting the antenna. Still, it's good to have choices.

Happy shopping.

The GXM-30 antenna is approx. $250 MSRP, so they should be giving you a better price break than that.
