jack too loose..................help.

Well I got the garmin motorcycle cable and the Autocom 1566 cable and hooked the whole works up...............
No voice unless I cock the plug real tight.
I'm got the greatest with a soldering iron but.......
can I cut the jack and receptacle off and solder it all together ?

With the 1566 cable does it matter which end goes where ?

was a broken wire in the 1566 cable.
New one on the way.....................
