Unhappy So you think your a GPS expert . . . help!!

About a year ago I was on the Garmin site and downloaded an alternative voice for my StreetPilot III. The ladies voice sounds English very hep hep, well I have tired of this and wish to go back to "Bitchin' Betty". Well now there is the problem - went to the Garmin site to no avail and spent way too much time in the search mode here - any one have a clue, recommendation, or the software. As I recall I ran it from my computer directly to the GPS via the Garmin power / communications cable.

Aww! I'm still in love with my British Babe! On the 2610, I can toggle back & forth from voice to voice on the fly...no PC needed.

(1) I've always wondered what the GPS voices sound like. At next month's Tech Session you'll have to show us.

(2) I think there is an unserved marketing opportunity here: I'd pay to have celebrity voices (real or impressionsists') on a GPS. Maybe one day you want Sean Connery, maybe the next day you want Reba McEntire. Personally, I'd really like to have the computer voice from Star Trek TNG on a GPS (Majel Barrett). I'd be in Nerd Heaven.

Great idea. Especially if she had a sense of humor. E.g. 'Warp drive offline" rather than "External power lost".

No problem on the demo. As for 'other' voices...no thanks. These units are expensive enough!

Smile Thanks . . .

Steve,

Thanks for the quick reference - I mostly leave my brains at work and what is left in the evening struggles to do other things and remembering just how to navigate the Garmin site is not one of them.

Welcome back Betty . . .
