GPS for passenger

Have any of you LT experts out there mounted a GPS (or any other device for that matter) so that your passenger can use it? Sort of looking to give my passenger some navigation duties.

I attached a lanyard to my remote for my 2610 and gave it to my wife.... now, handling issues when she gets upset that it isn't working correctly, well, that's another thread..

No personal experiece, but I have seen them mounted to the rider back rest w/ a RAM mount on Goldwings. They were using a pretty long arm, maybe 6".

Ari is hearing...

but does not have this on the project list.

Actually the idea is good, but I'm afraid that my wife would not be too eager to start using the navigator. At least the pillion unit could be somewhat lighter than Garmin 2610 / BMW Navi II / III. Perhaps a smaller Garmin or the TomTom Rider that has become very popular on this side of the pond. It has a rechargeable battery as well so it does not need the power all the time.

Talking

Do you really want your wife navigating???

When I have my wife navigating for me in the cage it always ends up in a fight. She hates to have that "responsibility". And to be honest...she sucks at it. I think many women lack the spacial skills required to know where they are on a map (GPS). When I hand my wife the GPS...she throws it back. YMMV.
