Nav v and phone link weather radar

I read on adventure rider people are using the nav v and bluetooth phone for weather radar, I understand it's a free garmin link and a one time fee. Anyone tried it yet?

I'd be interested too. But I hadn't heard of the one time fee until now. As I'm due a phone upgrade in about 2 months I'll go Android if this even looks worthwhile. They don't make the app for anything other than iProducts and Android.

Re: Nav v and phone link weather radar

I do not know about the nav V, but my Garmin Nuvi 2797 has this feature. The weather radar works pretty good. It was a free feature on my nuvi unit.

Here is a link explaining the nav V specs:

It looks like weather radar is a charge.

Re: Nav v and phone link weather radar

The "app" uses the Bluetooth paired phone to get the weather and traffic features to Nav V. If I had to pick between renewing the Sirius/XM or getting the current weather to the GPS, I'm picking the weather. I can also plug a flash drive full of music in the slot on the motorcycle!
