Well, Mr. Sander ....

... aka Wolfgang. Celebrating your birthday in Budapest is kinda neat - do they do cake and candles there too? Or that delicious dessert you mentioned instead?!

You picked out your two-wheel birthday present yet? If so, pics are in order!

Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Wolfgang. Best always!

Re: Well, Mr. Sander ....

Dick, the Hungarians have fantastic cakes and they do celebrate a birthday in the same ways like you guys do over the pond.

Back to the topic.

Wolfgang, auch von meiner Seite alles Gute zu Deinem Geburtstag.

By the way, Wolfgang, his wife and I met each other in a city called Györ - when
I was on a business trip a few weeks ago.

Looking forward to meet you soon again Wolfgang

best regards from Bavaria

Re: Well, Mr. Sander ....

Thanks Guys!

This had to be one of my best Birthdays yet. We went to the town of Eger, a barok city that is the center of one of Hungarias best known wine growing regions.

Stayed at a small private hotel, appropriately called: Hotel Romantic. The Hungarians have turned wine tasting in that town into a carnival like event. A horseshoe shaped road with at least 50 different cellars. No little samples here, you buy a full glass for 1 to 2 dollars and if you like it you buy the wine by the bottle or case. We decided to pass on that exercise after 3 glasses of mediocore wine. By the time you find the good onces you are totally smashed.. Yes, we took a cab to the place

Next day we found a winery that we ended up loving. Very classy place with fantastic wines. http://www.standrea.hu/en/wines Ended up buying 4 cases, all great wines at very affordable prices. Than off to Hungarias favorite past time: A mineral bath. This one is ultra modern and luxurious. I am amazed that this concept has not caught on in the states. Its a great way to spend a day. Take a look: www.salirisresort.hu

And yes, I have bought a bike thru a German website called Mobile.de. Lots of private and dealer ads, somewhat like e-bay motors. Its a 97 model R1100RT with only 42,000 km.
I will pick it up in 2 weeks. That should be an adventure. The train from Budapest to Krefeld, Germany. Pick up the bike, ride it to Bremen, visit my brother, register the bike and take care of some more paperwork. After that I will ride from Bremen with a stop in Prague back to Budapest. With detours of course I'll keep you guys posted.

Has any of you had an RT of that vintage and has some advice?

Re: Well, Mr. Sander ....

Sorry I missed your Birthday, Wolfgang. Hope it was wonderful. I know a guy who used to have a R1100RS. If I can find his email address, I'll ask him for input on the R1100 series.
