Please read this - it's for Charity

I've not mentioned this before, but a couple of friends had a son in Afghanistan, a week ago while doing bomb clearance, their son was unfortunate enough to be injured quite badly. he's currently in Selly Oak hospital having lost both legs and part of his left hand.

As of tonight, he still remains on a ventilator, while he continues to fight infections, and the medics are keeping him sedated. We hoped today, they were going to start the process of removing the ventilator, and start to bring him off the sedation, but he's still very poorly, so this has been put on hold.

Afghan Heroes, a charity who raises money to support the families, today delivered a whole bunch of gear to the parents rooms, portable DVD players for the lads on the ward, some flat screen TV's, PS3, games and videos.

If you have it in your heart, please donate some money to Afghan Heroes, you can go here to donate.

This weekend, those of you attending the meet in Saltburn, will be asked to contribute, I'll ask you only once, and will not be offended if you don't wish to donate, but you might be interested in a sealed bid for a model of a K1200lt, I'll be bringing with me to try and raise a few quid.

Having friends with an injured soldier, brought the conflict in Afghanistan very close to home. I'm hoping our UK membership will put a couple of quid in the direction of Afghan Heroes.

OK folks, I'm climbing down now, and hope we have a great weekend up north.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
