Hi Rudy - this sounds great.
Which is the best port to use for the venue? I was just reading that "advise that you disembark at the closest port to your holiday destination because there are no motorways in Sardinia and road travel can be a little challenging - above all after a ferry journey!"

Re: Motorcycle Touring Club Europe Anniversary Meeting in Sardegna

Cookie, all of us will leave from Livorno to Golfo Arranci. Its not right that there are no motorways in Sadegna. They do have dual carrigeways - but thats for sure not the roads where we gonna ride on during the Meeting

Price at www.ocean24.com is 50,96 € return for 1 bike and 1 person = they call that a "Joker price" or simular. Anyway, ferry price is just great. Of course the same with the prices for accomondation.

Sardegna is amazing. Great riding area!!!!!

Re: Motorcycle Touring Club Europe Anniversary Meeting in Sardegna

Day 3 - September 20th, 2010
Todays highlight is the "Grotta of Nettuno". More then 600 stairs to reach the grotta and yep of course you have to go back to your bike. Means around 1300 stairs in total, but the "Grotta" is amzing!!! worth every step you need to walk.

An alternative is, to do it with a kind of "sightseeing boat" No reservation needed.

On the way we will pass the "Elephant Rock"

Grotta di Nettuno

On the way back we will ride on the SP 105. Spectacular road along a steep coast. Great views and bends over bends - but nice to ride - wide open bends

total trip length - 373 kilometers

Re: Motorcycle Touring Club Europe Anniversary Meeting in Sardegna

Just came back from an "Inspection Ride" to Sardegna where the Meeting is beeing held.

Good news. We got another 10 places for this Meeting. It would be a shame to let them go.

If there is a late decider, just drop me a PM.

Final Registration Deadline is July, 17th, 2010.

For the moment we have 32 registered persons for our End of Season Meeting in Sardegna.

Here you will find some pictures from the "Inspection Ride"

Looking forward to see some of you at the Meeting!!

Hi Rudy, thanks for the wonderful pictures. Location is stunning and we wish you all a "Wunderbar" Treffen.
Just one question.
I see you also tow a trailer but with German plates. Is there difficulty in registering both ?
Cheers

Re: Motorcycle Touring Club Europe Anniversary Meeting in Sardegna

Hilton, not really a big problem. You just have to pay attention to a few things

Trailer width - not more than one mtr.

The hitch needs to be approved by the German MOT.

Thats it.

By the way, thanks for your comment
