UK - number plates, K12 *** ?

Just seen Bear's sticker thread and noticed the top part of his number plate, just wondered how many others had plates starting K12?

I do and there's 'DDD' seen in Dorset too?

My logic being having traken 22 years to own what I considered to be the ultimate bike, it made sense to put a personalised K12 plate on it.

1982 Yamaha Fizzy
1983 RS100 (acquired desire for a BMW K100)
1983 RD250
1985 RD350LC YPVS I and DT175
1985 - 1990 no bike
1990 250 Honda for 4 weeks then RD350LC YPVS II
1994 4 year diversion to a TVR S1
1998? Fazer 600
2001 Fazer 1000
2003 FJR1300
2005 to date K1200 LT SE - got there 22 years later....
plus in 2007 Honda XR 125 for the local summer traffic

K12 CTD was a birthday present off the wife,
CTD are the initials off my full name,
It started when I owned a 2004 YZF-R1 and she got me R1 CTD for my birthday,
Which is now the reg. of my car
So the reg is not just personal to the bike, itís also personal to me,
And to think a few years ago a personal reg. would be out of reach for an average working man!!
Wife also said she wonít be getting me another, so I canít change the bike...she loveís the LT to.

So thatís me and Steve-Dorset with K12, any others?

Yes mine is my initials too.
Subsequently bought a couple of others, 71 JEN for the wife and 3SPN for myself as the recession dropped the prices on these considerably last year, had halved compared to where prices have been and hopefully appreciation will be considerably above deflation!

Wink Re: UK - number plates, K12 *** ?

Hi all have just joined. And this is my first post' Have recently bought a K13 GT And was lucky enough to purchase from DVLA For a very resonable price 240Quid the No K13 KGT Could not beleave my luck Just had first 600ml service got back home and had a recall letter to rectify Frothy Brake Fluid caused by high frequency vibration at 5000 6500 revs. The Boffins have come up with a new type of Brillo Pad that they shove in the Fluid Container to stop the froth and the subsiquent loss of brakes Catch ya later Grumpy
