Frank's BMW, Essex, VT

Well, I was on day 2 of a 4 day ride in the Lake Placid, NY area with the MotoMarathon association. I came to a stop and when I shifted in to second my shift linkage broke. I limped back to my motel and called Frank's BMW. Spoke with the owner, Lester, and he told me that he didn't have a new linkage, but if I could get there her could get me back on the road. Three hours later, including a ferry ride, I arrived at his shop (stuck in 2nd, 35MPH, no fun). He took the bike right in and within an hour I was ready to go. He had a used shift lever that he had previously drilled and tapped for the 8mm upgrade and some spare used parts to make up the upgraded linkage. Parts, labor and tax = $112.00. I was a happy camper to say the least. If you're in the area and need anything, give Lester a try. He's a great guy.

Also, check out the Motomarathon association here:

Great organization and lots of fun!!!
