Chicago BMW

Did I miss something, was I asleep? I haven't visited this site regularly to keep up on information like I should. But I just sent an on-line order to Chicago BMW on the 3rd of this month. I recently received a notice that my order was "cancelled". What the hell is going on! I then placed a call to the parts department and he said they are going out of business. Another one bites the dust!

I read the following quote today from av rider:

Chicago BMW is going out of business
I just called Chicago BMW to order some parts and was informed they were going out of business...WTF.. Chicago BMW referred me to Euro Cycles in Tampa. I called Euro Cycles and talked to Jaymes Swanson in parts and they will match the 10-20% discount if you call with the part number handy.... MSRP if they had to look it up. Turns out he was friends with Mark at Chicago BMW, they had been thru BMW training together. Sorry to hear about Chicago closing but glad to hear Euro Cycles is filling the void."

Re: Chicago BMW

I think that it is because there is a new Chicago area dealer that aims to be bigger and better than anything around and has "procured" at least 5 core employees from Chicago BMW.
The new shop is called BMW Motorcycles of Countryside.

Sad to see Chicago BMW go, but I'm not surprised.

In case there is any doubt, I too just confirmed that they are going out of business. I have had an open parts order with them now for about 3 weeks and called for a status. I spoke with the parts department and was told that they are filling any special order parts that had already been received but all others are being cancelled. Unfortunately that includes my order. He also told me that to the best of his knowledge no one is picking up the franchise and that all the motorcycle and standard parts inventory has already been removed. I hate to hear this as there are already too few dealers around the country.

Hi ROB,
Yes, I saw the info on Euro Cycles in Tampa as well.
After learning that my order with Chicago was cancelled I called Euro and placed my order with them. They told me I should have my parts within 2 weeks and I believe I was given about a 10% discount off published prices. Won't know for sure until the Discover bill shows up. These parts are for an older model bike and not stocked by the dealer otherwise they would have been shipped much sooner. Will keep ya'll posted on how this works out.

Re: Chicago BMW

Well I already ordered the parts I needed from Bob's BMW in MD. Needed some of them right away so I paid list price but received them in just a few days. Guess I'll have to check out Euro Cycle when I have another parts order!!! Let us know if you receive a discount on your parts order from there.......
