Waiting 30 Days From Chicago Bmw !

I thought Chicago was supposed to be a top notch place to buy parts?
I ordered a water temp sending unit and a hold down screw for my LT and it has been 30 days now.
I did call and they told me they had to order in the sending unit.
I never received an email or update from them.
And I still dont have my parts..........

I could have walked to Chicago by now...........

Sure is nice to have a torn apart LT

Nobody told you ?
Never order from Chicago if you need the part any time soon.
They used to give a 20% discount but I think that's gone now.
Order from A&S or Anyone else...

I believe some one posted that they where moving to new location. Not sure if this if true but hopefully someone will fill in the blanks.

I dealt with them once and will not again for the same reason you are experiencing.

No, they haven't moved. That was my post asking if they had (moved) after I listened to their automated telephone answering system that said "Chicago Harley/Buell in Glenview". Anyway, they're still at the old location on Western Ave, and yes they still apply the 20% off discount, but they don't show you those prices online because the Mothership back in Munich was upset about advertising that discount.

I too have waited too long, in the past, for parts from Chicago BMW. In fact, I'm waiting right now. Order placed on April 6th for a paper gasket and some spline lube. Weather's getting nice, so I may just have to put the tupperware back on and plan the work (drilling my clutch slave cylinder weep hole) another time.

What I really don't like about Chicago BMW is the fact that there is no way to check on order status, nor will they send you any order updates, nor a tracking number. So, short of calling them, there's no way to stay updated. I would think that they'd be sick of getting these calls to check on order status. In this day and age, there's really no good reason not to set up a better automated system....ok other than the fact that this would cost them some money to make the change!

Just venting.

I wish I could think of clever things to say in my signature.

I too endured a long delay waiting for parts from them. When I called it transpired that all the parts bar one pack of screws had arrived in stock, so the guy said 'oh, I'm sure we have the same thing under a different part number, I'll get it shipped out today' and the package arrived within 3 days.

I guess I'm in the same queue as all of you too! I ordered some shift linkage parts to have on-hand for our Alaska trip this summer, it's been over 3 weeks and no parts and no communication. Fortunately, I have 8 weeks before launch.
