Thumbs up Mathias Cycle Sales & Service (New Philadelphia, OH) - Again

Last summer, after a clutch replacement and Ohlins install, I mentioned in this thread about bypassing my hometown dealer (45 min. away) and taking the LT to Mathias BMW in New Philadelphia (1h 45m away) because of their more-reasonable shop rate. Well, they've done it again.

Service they performed:
  • A basic 12k service (valve check, gear box oil change).
  • Installed a Centech auxiliary fuse panel I provided, and wired various accessories to it.
  • Brake system flush.
  • Adjusted cruise control (it was failing to engage).
Their charge: $237.

Yes, I was very happy with that. "Good job" to Gene, Jamie, and Don at Mathias Cycle Sales & Service.

DAMN! I wonder how far it is from Raleigh, NC. That's a great price- don't know how they stay in business if they give everyone prices like that.

Modesty and fairness, that's how.
Much of the nation could use a dose.
Especially our healthcare industry.
Sorry... mini rant

As for Mathias... They are 1 1/2 hours from me. I stop in when business takes me nearby. Although I don't often leave any money, they are always friendly, patient, and engaging. The times that I have had service work done, they have been punctual, accommodating and fairly priced.

+1
From me too.
When ever I need some thing done at the shop I will travel over an hour to get there when there is a BMW dealer 5 minutes from my driveway.

Thumbs up Re: Mathias Cycle Sales & Service (New Philadelphia, OH) - Again

Rolled in there this morning at 9a.m. to run a Poker Run for our club. My rear tire is pretty much gone and asked them if they had a tire for the LT and if by any chance they could squeeze me in this morning to get it mounted. I had been checking around online for a new tire and prices have really gone up. Looking at over $200 online. They quoted me $225 which included removing the wheel from the bike, mounting and balancing the new tire and reinstalling the wheel and also included tax. Had me out the door in 45 min.

Told Jamie my bike now has 68,000 on it and hasn't had a major service since 25,000miles. That last time I had it done at my more local dealer it ran me $1,200 and just couldn't afford to put that kind of money out ever time. Asked what they would charge for a major service like this and he quoted $450 to $500. Needless to say, I set up an appointment.

These guys really are great. Can't remember ever hearing anyone complain about the service, pricing or the way they are treated there. Well worth the 1 1/2 Hr. drive there.
