Re: Going Live - Curve Cowboy Reunion - Reunion
Finally a free moment to thank John and Jean for setting up the CCR/R. Had a great time even though we were on 4 wheels. It was great to see many old friends and exciting to meet some of those on the Forum that we hadn't previously had the pleasure of meeting face to face. Our trip home was long with a good many periods of heavy rain. Decided to keep forging ahead and finally got home about 10:30 pm Sat. We unloaded the car and hit the sack for a good nights sleep. Unfortunately not knowing at the time that we had a mess on our hands in the house. Apparently, while we were away, there was a significant electrical storm. The damaged inventory includes: 1 irrigation controller, 2 tv's, 1 internet modem, 1 WiFi router, 2 Direct TV receivers. After spending all morning troubleshooting and determining that it really was all the hardware that was damaged I spent most of the remainder of the afternoon on the phone trying to get to talk to a person at Directv and not the freek'n Customer Service Computer. Anyway, Directv service is supposed to arrive tomorrow afternoon and rectify all their hardware issues. In the meantime I visited COSTCO, my favorite retail store, and picked a new combo- modem/router and two tvs. Got the modem/router installed and working so we now have internet to all computers and the OOMA internet phone service is back online. So, I was feeling a little down after all that but finally got to sorting through last weeks mail. My spirits were lifted immediately when I opened a letter from our Home Owners Ins Co and found a very large check made out to me and a Roofing Company to replace my entire roof. The damage resulted from a wind and hail event in our area about a month ago. I am one happy camper in spite of all the lighting damage!
