Not uncommon incident. A guy riding my favorite road parked his bike and walked back to talk to his mate and a tree fell right on the middle of his bike. Flattened it. Timing is everything!. My friend and her family ran into a tree that fell across the road. The car was a total right off. One branch speared right through the screen and out through the back window. Missed her son by inches. Their only injury was the driver got a cut on his ear where the branch went through. Very lucky.

Right...What are the odds....Dude, I'd bet I have over 300k miles on the road (on bikes) and I've NEVER seen a clear weather, no wind, tree fall on a bike. Trees in the road after a storm? Sure, but out of the blue getting wacked by a falling tree on a nice sunny day? Maybe his Fu was out of alignment, LOL....
