Hall & Oates once sang; "she's gone"

Well, I sold my LT today so for the moment and maybe for the rest of the year I will be without a scooter.

I do however have the rest of the year and maybe till spring to decide which bike will be best suited for my riding styles.

Distance will still be a huge factor as far as rider/pillion comfort as well as creature comforts.......does the GTL fit that bill?

I may not be at IH this Fall either as I will be without a bike.........

So for now, I will be lurking and keeping some of you derelicts in line.

Well good luck with going cold turkey, the worst part of bikelessness is the phantom pain between your legs, biking, tis an addiction you never get shut of.

Without men civilization would last untill the oil needs changing.

Seriously.

Here's hoping you have something in its place - soon. And by the way - the Iron Horse's parking lot accepts cars.

Brett,

Sold my 03 Anthracite a few years ago too, and went through a severe condition of MUTTS. Hope yours isn't too bad.

What's MUTTS?

Motorcycle Underuse Transition Trauma Syndrome. It is not life threatening, but can create behaviors that are socially unacceptable ...

Re: Hall & Oates once sang; "she's gone"

I hear MUTTS is a bad thing and has been know to drive some men crazy, oops too late!

Charlene has already told me that I was always welcomed even though it may not be on two wheels.

Will start test riding some bikes in the near future as it may take me a while to figure which is the perfect bike.

Re: Hall & Oates once sang; "she's gone"

Sorry to hear you're bikeless, Buddy ... but it's only temporary, right? I know you're filthy rich and all, but I just don't see you putting down that kinda coin for a GT/GTL. I sure can't justify it. Guess that just might mean that I'm a big cheapskate after all. Hhmmm...

Stay in touch. Let us know what you're thinking about buying. (I have a hunch, just not going to say it out loud just yet. )

Yes, only temporary my friend. 26K is a lot for a bike, but the tour bikes that I have been putting an eye on are ALL in that price range. I have to keep in mind my lovely pillion (wife) when it comes to my next bike. The Triumph Trophy, the Voyager, the Ultra Classic (I can't believe I said that) and of course the GTL are in the hunt, now I doubt very seriously I will even test ride a Harley much less buy one, I will ride however the GTL and the Trophy....MAYBE the Voyager, maybe!

She really liked the 2000 Nomad (1500) that we had before buying the LT, BUT the LT was much more of a bike that I liked to ride both in the mountains and on the highway much more than the Nomad. They have beefed up the engine (1700) with a 6-speed tranny with cruise and a larger fuel tank, but it doesn't have the protection of the LT, heck neither does the GTL!

Soooooooo, I have several months to think and pray about it; I would be curious to know what YOU think should be my next bike!!!!! You can always PM me.

How far are you from Columbus? 50, 100?

Re: Hall & Oates once sang; "she's gone"

Hey Brett, RonKMiller has a totally one-off/custom BMW bike that will fit you like a glove. Passenger accommodations are less than you guys are used to, but I know you'd adjust to it. I don't know that it's even for sale, but for the right price it might be.

Ron - post a photo of that bad boy, please...
