What to do if your horse has COPD

Sorry. No joke here. Our 8 yr old Missouri Trotter has been diagnosed with COPD. Yeah, COPD. He started coughing bad so we took him to the vet. After some research on the web, my wife found this apparatus that uses a human inhaler that we hope will help him.

Vet have a prognosis, Doug?? Guess its not too uncommon, judging by what Deborah found. Best to the horse - lucky feller who has top notch caregivers!!

Prognosis is not good. Just as in humans, this will eventually kill him. The only thing we can do is hope this can prolong his life a few years.

So sorry to hear that...
I had the good fortune to keep my thoroughbred for 30 years. I got him when he was 7...
