Tank Bag

I have a question... along with my "Monkey Butt" question.... I have a tank bag, and a desire to do an iron butt. What should I pack in my tank back? It's on a LT, and it's the BMW bag.

Re: Tank Bag

Sunglasses, sunscreen, heavier or ligher weight riding gloves, spare foam earplugs, balaclava or neck wear (if cold weather), garage door opener, small flashlight, tire pressure guage, wife's lipstick and your chapstick, spare change for tollboth in a film canister, map of the next state, your .40 cal and extra ammo.

Basically, all the stuff you may need, but don't want to have to dig thru the panniers to find on short notice!

Re: Tank Bag

Water, light snacks, chap stick, sunscreen, Advil, small towel. Also, have an extra pair of gloves available so you can "rotate" them during the ride, on your stops of course.

Also, get a BeadRider - trust me on this!!

I like this list, except for the garage door opener being that it's only going to be used once when you leave the house and then again when you return. Otherwise, even though it's small, it'll be taking up space and getting in the way while you're looking for other stuff. Hand it to the wife and let her hold on to it.

Re: Tank Bag

A zipper packet with a clip to keep your receipts in order. Makes it easier at the end to do the documentation.

I've only done one, but everything else mentioned is good.
