Renting in Italy

Wow, this will be a dull post after reading Slammers! But anyway,,,,

I have searched for rental companies, now I think asking everyone who has already done this, is the way to go. We will be flying into northern Italy, late September for 1 to 2 weeks on a rental. Probably fly into Milan from Boston. Recommendations on roads, ( Alps for sure), insurance, lodging, bike rental prices etc.2 up riding so a bike with hard luggage is a must. We have not made any firm plans yet, dates can vary a bit, but we want to go when the tourist season is past.

Tried this post with limited results elsewhere. So far one good lead out of Milan.

Thanks, Mick

Re: Renting in Italy

Can't help with rental companies, as we rode our own bike over when we lived in Wales.

But I can recommend you pick up a copy of Motorcycle Journeys Through the Alps & Beyond by John Hermann.

John has been riding the Alps for 40 years, and knows them better than any other motorcyclist. The wealth of information contained in his book is an invaluable resource for anyone planning an Alpine ride.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
