best roads in your state

If you had to choose the best three roads in your state what would they be?

This is a hard choice but In my opinion Michigan's top three would be M22, M119 (the tunnel of trees), and H58 the hurricane hwy.

Hogey, it is a hard choice alright. If looking for a best 3, Tunnel of Trees, M22 and H58 are all great, but where does US41 into Copper Harbor rank? Tough call.

That's my all time fave. Although you have to do M-26 back down from Copper Harbor. Of course the Gay Rd/LacLebelle Rd is a great way to get from M-26 in Lake Linden to US 41 below Copper Harbor just before Mandan. Better yet, spend a week riding all the great roads in the Keweenaw and there's no place else you'd want to ride.

That settles it, I will be heading up there to check out those roads this summer!

Hey Matt,
Thanks to your advise I was going to reply about Gay_Lac_La_Belle Rd. It is an awesome sweeper. I was running out of gas (Copper Harbor mesmerized me and I forgot to fill up) and made a wrong turn around Lac La Belle (gas station somewhere around there) and headed toward Gay. I could not have cared less! The scene along the lake was amazing, no traffic at all (made me a bit concerned) and the road was in great shape.
I've seen others post a pic of The Gay Bar in Gay. That's where an old gas pump, sitting next to and old storage tank, provided 100% Premium unleaded fuel. Ask the bartender to turn on the pump. What a great memory leaving CCR 2012.
I still like Dave's list the best. Especially Scott's suggestion to me about H-58. Hands down, the best in the midwest!
Illinois has a couple nice mc-riding roads. All in the Northwest corner near Galena. They're Blackjack, Stagecoach and maybe throw in Massbach. Anywhere in that general area is really great riding.

Have fun,
Jer

Re: best roads in your state

In the winter time our population doubles and so does the congestion near the coast,
we have so many out of state/country drivers going 10 mph below the speed limit in the left lane, with their turn signal perpetually blinking

So therefore this time of year my vote goes to I95,
that's the one all the Canadians and New Yorkers take when they go back home.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: best roads in your state

I'm going to have to pass on the " Best in Florida" because in the country, many are ok and our riding season is long so I do get to ride a lot.

West Virginia, where I'm from, just about every road is great once you leave a town. They twist and turn and go up and down. There was a 6 mile paved road up a 1,000 foot mountain less than a mile from my home that I never got tired of riding. In WV you can go just about anyplace and have a great ride.

Couldn't agree with you anymore.
My limited treks through the state and on a couple times on US60 very impressive. As a matter of fact the second time I rode I purposely went out of my way for final destination in NC.
