Sent out some resumes last week ... interesting.

Due to some recent changes here at work, I decided to 'test the waters' and send out my resume last Tuesday, responding to 4 online ads. I received 4 enthusiastic responses back asking for interviews. I interviewed at one business on Friday afternoon and received a job offer before I made it home. Life sure can change on a dime. And I'm glad to be in the IT field these days.

Wow the economy must be picking up. I mean if they call you for an interview.
Just joking...
Seriously you must have a good resume. I've seen a lot of IT opportunity in Ohio especially in Columbus.

You just roll out of bed??? LOL

It's probably because I currently have a job. If I were out of work, there would be none to be found, right? Isn't that the way it always goes?

I'm currently in the process of negotiating between two potential new employers.

I think that's exactly how it goes. My wife was laid off in December of 2008. For quite a while there was nothing to be found. Then she would actually be told "Well we'd prefer someone with more recent work experience." and ask about the gap from when she was laid off! She eventually got a part time retail job and in the past nearly 3 years has moved to 3 different chains, each time for more hours and money. We're convinced it's because of the recent work experience. I think there's a mistaken belief that the long term unemployed are lazy.

I've often said, "The working get hired.".

Thanks Howard. My new boss reminds me of you. A kind, honest guy ... and a real straight-shooter. I like those guys.

You are way too kind, sir. Seriously. But I appreciate it.

So let us know how the new job goes. There are a number of IT guys on this site; I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious what you are doing, the technology involved, and so on. Inquiring minds...
