No, not at all.
Political posts, or anything that might even vaguely be interpreted as such, are shut down quickly and without warning.
Yet political ads are inserted at random, and we have to use special ad blocking software to remove them.
Yes, that does seem a bit off.
Now I know that the difference is between the new site owners, who use ads to hopefully generate revenue, and the older moderators, who are so gun shy as to be quite quick with the censorship just in case something might get "funny".
But the original point made in this thread is still valid, and I, and many others, still don't like it.
And speaking of funny, there seems to be quite a bit more leeway in the Humor forum, so apparently, that's where you get to discuss politics and religion, as long as you make a joke out of it first. And face it, anything to do with politics and religion is always
a joke . . .
