Sandy

Wow, what a hell of a storm.......living in the south between the tornadoes and the hurricanes guess I sometimes get desensitized to tragedies such as Sandy.

Got a good friend in Tunkhannock, Pa. that got flooded last year, sure hope he made it thru ok this time.
From the looks of it from these pics.....going to take a long time to get back to normal, if that is even possible.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know 'why' I look this way.
I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Thanks for posting. It will interesting to see how this disaster is handled in comparison to Katrina. I'll bet that it'll be more of the same incompetence the governing folks showed us in 2005. I hope to be wrong on this one though.

Re: Sandy

Just amazing (and sad) to see so many homes burn while being flooded at the same time. I hope those folks have flood insurance.

I moved to Atlanta from Tampa about 15 years ago and since them we've been blessed to have avoided most natural disasters. Seems every hurricane season, in central Florida, you're wondering if that will be your time to get whacked.

As one of the coastal governors said, they're starting to see 100 year events every other year. So even if they rebuild I wonder if they wouldn't be in jeopardy within five years. For now though I wish them a speedy recovery.

Re: Sandy

S.C. is long over due for a major hurricane, it's been since 1989 (Hugo) for one to make land fall here.
