RAT (road anomaly tour) pictures

While at CCR we sat in on Doc and Robin's session regarding 2up riding and long distance riding. We thoroughly enjoyed their presentation. Part of the presentation included a discussion on RAT pictures. RAT stands for road anomaly tour. This is where you would find something strange or out of the ordinary and take a picture of it.

Correct me if a better explanation is needed Doc or Robin. (or anyone else)

One of the things that we started doing right away was noticing and pointing out strange things along the roads that we were on.

I'm sure soon enough there will be an official forum for this!!! But until then we are going to post our first picture and encourage you all to post some pics of strange things across the country.

This is a weird claim to fame of our home town of Kalkaska.......the shoe tree. People are always stopping by to take a picture of it. I never thought I would be one of those people!!

Yeppir - great fun over the years. Originator of the RAT Run wuz Gately, who has since passed away. However, the tradition lives on. The IBMWR site used to devote lots of space to Gately's themes and such. If you are interested, this is the website - wanna spend some time on a rainy day, this is the place. Might even find, like Dave did, that your hometown has some 'anomalies' to offer!! Have fun - be warned - it can get a little addictive!!

Re: RAT (road anomaly tour) pictures

We ran into a giant Canada Goose on the north shore of Lake Superior. I think it was in the town of Wawa. (I wonder if the town's name was influenced by Barbara Walters and SNL...?)

Also snapped a photo of a giant fish on this trip.
