Valentine

Thank You Valentine!

Was riding between thunderstorms yesterday evening. On a 2 lane mostly no passing zones. Behind 4 cars, the leader going right at posted, maybe a little under.
Everytime I'd go down a gear and ready to twist it hard and pass them all, the Valentine would bark and I'd go to watching my manners and also looking for the source of the radar. about the third time it did that, looked down at the Valentine and noticed it indicated the source was behind me. As I was headed east, sun at my back and wearing bifocal glasses, did not notice the law right behind me. He was lighting up the oncoming traffic looking for a speeder. He almost got me as I probably would have exceeded the 50 mph limit by just a little if I were to pass all 4. Second gets me to 80 in short order.
That thing has paid for itself a few times over in saved speeding citations.

Made it to Dave's and back and only got sprinkled on twice, once in each direction.

Re: Valentine

Love mine, for all the reasons stated!!!!

I wish www.Legalspeeding.com would get the updated HARD system up and available again so I could have in helmet light alert wirelessly from the V1 to my helmet!

it was supposed to be available by now.

Re: Valentine

I tried the in-helmet light from Legal Speeding and could never find a place in the helmet where I liked it. As an alternate, take a look at the 10 LED light alert system from Marc Parnes. It is bright enough to grab your immediate attention without sitting in the helmet. www.marcparnes.com/Visual_Alert.

Did you do the 10 light or 5 light. And it sounds like you must have the V1 Audio adapter to use the lights. I like the idea, just trying to understand it before I pull the trigger!

I bought the five light initially, then went to the ten light. Yes, I have the V1 Audio Output which is required for the Marc Parnes system to work. Call Parnes if you have any questions. They can design and build whatever you want.

I emailed Marc and he was very helpful. He convinced me the 5 light was the way to go.

I have my V1 on a BMR Co-Pilot accessory shelf, so it is up abover the dash quite a ways. I'll report back on teh 5'er!

Re: Valentine

Can't remember when I bought my V1 but it was at least four bikes ago. A while back I had it plugged into the car cigarette lighter and some how the spring inside the plug got sideways and shorted out. Dead V1, smoked plug and it would no longer work in the bike. Sent it back fully expecting to pay for the repair as the dang thing is old.

Long story short. Fixed V1, new 12 volt plug and new software. Cost? Nothing.

And yes it has saved my butt a number of times. Latest one was this morning.
