Question Montreal?

I'm planning a weeker to Vermont this summer for the BMWMOA rally and in looking at the map ... Montreal looks soooo close. Anyone ever cycled into the big city of Montreal? Is it safe, friendly, good eats, pricey, etc? I've heard great things about the culture and the strippers. Is it worth a trip to leave the country for a couple of days???

I've been there a few times. It's a nice town with much to see and do. When in Montreal I tend to take Mass Transit because traffic on the local roads and highways sucks. Parking is rough at best in the downtown areas. Get a good local map and mark the places you want to see, then take the subway.

It's been a few years since I was in Montreal. I loved the city. I found it safe, and the restraunts are excellent. The strippers are the best I have ever seen. I sat one night with Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper till 5am at a place called Chez Paree. Glad my Visa was empty. Prices would be comparable to NYC.

You will find some great dining in what they call Old Montreal. And you have to stop at either Dunn's, Ben's or Schwartz's for a Authentic Montreal smoked meat sandwich
You will have a great time, but like they say "don't forget your visa"

Sweepers and twisties versus strippers

You want strippers or roads?
North of the border it gets kinda flat and boring WRT riding bikes.
Monreal is a nice town, but I don't know that the strippers are any better there than any other metro area. Unless you are really into French. Oh, never mind.
You wanna ride the strippers or the bike? Iffin you like cities, Monreal is a nice one. Us country boys likes them hills. Sorry, I'm getting myself confused here.... hills, valleys, twisties, strippers, sweepers.....
Have a really good time during your visit to VT and Monreal.
