Hernia update

Got it fixed Friday, doctor did it through an incision, not laproscopic due to scaring from previous surgical work. In at 0700, home by 1400.

Sore as heck but here to say that Percoset helps a lot.

Follow up to get the staples out on 5 Jun. Surgeon says I'll be out of work for 6 weeks. Hoping to prove him wrong.

Sure does not feel good when I cough or sneeze. I'm up and moving around, just not moving fast.

Doctors orders say I can take a shower today (first post op) looking forward to that.

Re: Hernia update

Just take it easy the first week. If you don't you'll figure out what I mean....

Re: Hernia update

Your lucky to have pain killers. I got none during or after my hernia surgery.

Re: Hernia update

Glad all went well. Take it easy for a few weeks and you will be back to normal sooner.

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying " I'll try again tomorrow".

Glad to hear you're up and about, Gunny. Don't overdo it. You don't want them in there scrambling your insides again!

Re: Hernia update

Surgery is never fun, and the older you get the harder it is to recover.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. I would let your body dictate what you can/cannot do. Just do not over exert yourself, as this will set your recovery back.

Hang in there

Best regards

Re: Hernia update

I still can remember the pain when I would sneeze, and get chills still when I sneeze today, just remembering the pain.

Hint:

If you feel like you are going to sneeze, gently blow your nose and you probably won't have to sneeze. Most of the time, it worked for me.

Like a doc told me one time Gunny, when I said something hurt when I did a certain thing, He said "DON'T DO THAT" Hope you heal quickly.

Re: Hernia update

The first four or five days were the roughest for me. I was really wondering what i had gotten myself into.
I think I was back installing cabinets at about five weeks.
