I figured out how to afford a retirement home on the water

With carefull planning, clipping coupons and getting a healthy 1.5% return on my savings I should be able to retire to a beautiful home on the water in about - oh - another 150 years or so...

OR

Do this instead!

Reportage photos - Découvrez de l'intérieur la maison flottante actuellement sur la Garonne ! - [Ze]Blog La Parenthèse Graphique Anthony Rojo Photographe Bordeaux

All it needs is a couple of THESE on the stern:

... and from a VERY rough translation here's what it says:

And you do not dream! Here is the absolutely crazy plan of a family of Bordeaux, a food in city and in the campaign at the same time!!!

For some hours now, the craft became established on Garonne River! Hen, sheep, tiny field of corn, kitchen garden nothing misses in this small home in the middle of Garonne! Visits are going to be organized from the pontoon of honour to meet the family and its way of life, and it is really brilliant!!!

I'll bet he doesn't pay any property tax, but I would still hate mowing the lawn....

Looks great Ron, maybe you could add a couple of farm animals to that floating mansion of yours?

Nah Bill, the only farm animals I'm into are sheep, and their high heels would poke holes in the deck.

(but I am going to install some really lush synthetic grass from Costco in the stern "living room". Why? Just for the Halibut! )

I checked out that site you posted Ron. Only thing I thought to be missing was the banjo music.
