BMW fined $3 million for late notice of safety defects

Forgive me if this has been posted before. The article addresses motorcycles so it is relevant. No wonder some of us love the machines but not the company.

The more time passes since owning a Beemer, the less I separate the two.

I'm glad they fined BMW. However, $3M is like fining a pro football starting QB $1000. Not much "ummph" in it.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

To the corporate mind.. Three million dollars is a HELL of a lot less than it would cost to fix the problem... So there you go.. F'em...

To quote Fight Club (and I think I have the right quote)

"If A times B times C = "X", and "X" is less than the cost of a recall, then we don't do one..."
