Re: 70mph Personal Mobility Scooter

30-40 mph maybe ... don't think it can reach 70.

Re: 70mph Personal Mobility Scooter

I would like to see those tires at 70 mph...

Hell, my Michelins are only J rated for 62 mph. (I top out at 50 mph)

Re: 70mph Personal Mobility Scooter

I wasn't paying that close attention, but aren't the tires on those little things like solid rubber?

Re: 70mph Personal Mobility Scooter

I think they're A2 rated for 6mph, but hey, when I'm 95 that will probably be fast enough.

When I licensed mine the inspector (with a badge!) was stunned that Michelin even made tires like that. He then asked about the wheels and told me emphatically that there was no way they were DOT rated either. No DOT rating - no license plate!

I then got him down on his hands and knees and pointed out the very neatly stamped "DOT 8" on the rims.

I too was AMAZED that Honda manufactured 8" road worthy rims for a kid's mini bike way back in 1969...
