From 2/11/11 to 2/11/12, I lost 100 pounds of body weight.
I used a simple approach:
No sodas, No exceptions. I used to live with diet mt. dew attached to my hand.
No Fruit Juices except Fresh Squeezed OJ & Organic Sour Cherry Juice. If I want other fruit juices, I eat the fruit.
No High Fructose Corn Syrup laden foods, removes quite a bit of foods from our diet.
No processed Sugar or foods with processed sugars.
No Gluten laden foods, removing as much gluten as possible.
No Fast Food, No Exceptions.
More Fiber rich foods.
Whole grain breads only.
More fresh fruit. Apples, Clementines & Oranges.
More organic dried fruits. Raisins, Sour Cherry's.
More homemade soups made with a wide variety of beans and other fresh veggies, lots of spices to keep them interesting.
One cup of Hot Tea every morning. We have it blended at Teavana, a local retail tea specialty shoppe. Contains equal parts Samurai Chai Mate & White Ayurvedic Chai. An amazing energy boost and my only caffeine source
In general, eating smaller portions more often, several times a day.
Walking 2+ miles a day, every day I can. I was running as well, but it made my lower back surgery site hurt way too much to tolerate, so I power walk for a minimum of 30 minutes non-stop.
Isometric exercises, focusing on large muscle groups. I sit on an exercise ball while working, keeping core muscles engaged while working.
Other choices that make a huge difference:
No manufactured antacids. I use Red Desert Clay
instead. It has loads of health benefits.
No antibiotics, cough suppressants, prescription or over the counter cold/flu/etc. medications. I use MMS
if I feel anything coming on. Stops it dead in its tracks within hours. My immune system is now strong and healthy. No colds, flu, fever, sinus or ear infections, coughs, bronchitis, pneumonia, fungus, etc. No Pathogen caused health events at all. Up until a year ago, I experienced the above maladies yearly since I was a kid.
No synthetic vitamins like one-a-day or the like. You can't digest or process them anyway. Only organic nutrients like those found in Fatigued to Fantastic
Substituted Organic Coconut Oil
for other cooking oils, keeping a small amount of Olive Oil for its positive health benefits.
After a lifetime of poisoning my body & mind with Fast Food, Processed Sugar, Preservatives and other food additives like High Fructose Corn Syrup
, Processed Cooking Oils and the like; I've found a set of diet choices that work for me, and Sue.
Another observation: My GS has much stronger acceleration and more responsive braking.
