I can prove the ecconomy is turning around!

After two and a half years of unemployment in my field, I'm once again gainfully employed in the corporate world...

Two years of playing a contract pick-up game, living off my savings, dumping stocks and refinancing our home got us through the worst of it; along with drastic belt tightening.

I started last week as the Director of Information Services at Progressus Therapy in Tampa, and the sun is again shining in Florida for me.

Unemployment among 50+ year olds in Florida, as well as a lot of other states, is still way too high, but it's getting better.

In the words of Steven Tyler: "I'm Baaaaaaack, back in the saddle again..."

Boy, you do have stamina, Dave. I'm thinking all those days and nights creating and polishing the RILYSI blog are paying off now. Glad thangs have turned around to the good for you and Sue. Betcha sleep is easier to handle now, and the future has some bright lights leading the way - Congrats.

Re: I can prove the ecconomy is turning around!

Congrats Dave!

I am semi retired, but know how working Contract work can be. Good when it is there, but no knowing how long it will last.

I am fortunate that this economic downfall somewhat coincided with my leaving CA and semi retirement, as I do not plan to work full time any longer anyway. Otherwise, it would have been rough.

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work...I want to achieve it through not dying.
