Whats worse is trying to cross the street with all that going on - I was in saigon for the first time a few years back and it took me nearly 20minutes to get across the street!

The Key was to walk with a purpose and do not stop at any point. The scooters are watching you and expecting you not to be in the same spot when they get there - you stop in the middle of the road and you're toast.

Saw lots of accidents as well.

How many is a few years back if you call HCM-city Saigon?
Yes you need a deathwish to cross a road in that part of the rock, however for sheer bowl loosning terror you should try downtown Theran. The trick is to hope allah is with you, cos a Paykan driver (1967 Hilmann rip off) will acitvly take aim at you. But maybe that comes with being a brit.
