World's tiniest V-12 engine

...or, what I did over the long holiday weekend:

http://www.youtube.com/user/yesuswil.../0/3YfTtGCsiD8

V12 engine with compressed air injection, hand made using traditional methods:12 cm3 of displacement, the diameter of the cylinder is 11,3 mm,the stroke of the pistons 10mm,it works with only 0,1kg/cm2.Is constructed with stainless steel, aluminum and bronze.Patelo dedicate this engine to his grandchildren:Sara,Carmen,Jose and Pablo. This engine is for education, exhibitions, etc.,that is the reason to work with compressed air, to avoid contamination. He has made the plans and all parts, except the screws. The engine is not for sale.

It took 1220 hours to build. Assuming he worked on it 40 hours a week that's 30.5 weeks.

Kids can inspire engineering feats.... I once built a 6 foot tall "Lego Tower" with my son!

I have neither the skill nor patience to pull of that miniature engine!

What type motor oil is he using, Dino or Synthethic?

Uh, oh! I turned this into an "oil thread"!

Still, very cool. Thanks for sharing, Ron.

Re: World's tiniest V-12 engine

I saw this on another forum It's a masterpiece in engineering for sure, but it's not an engine in the sense that it doesn't produce any power or drive anything. It really only an elaborate version of the air-wrenches used to remove wheel nuts.

This on the other hand is the real deal...
