Earthquake!

All I can say is WOW!!!!!

We just had a 5.6 here. We literally shook for 45 seconds.

Got some damage to the trim around the outside of the house but not too bad.

That was a real shaker . Unreal. Waiting for the aftershocks.

Re: Earthquake!

I know the feeling John, we recently had a big one here in Virginia. Quakes are very scary things. Good to hear there was no major damage.

Re: Earthquake!

Responding from the Earthquake capital I know first hand what a 5.6 feels like.
Glad you are safe John, and I hope that you sustained nothing beyond cosmetic damages.

Re: Earthquake!

We had one here in Southern Indiana a couple a years ago. It leaves a strange feeling for a while.

Re: Earthquake!

We've been having a lot of twos and threes.. But Friday we had a 4.7 overnight and then yesterday the 5.6 I can tell you there's a LOT of difference in the two...The little ones are a lot like a sonic boom...

Just between the 4.7 and the 5.6 is 22 times more energy released...I was truly impressed by the shaking this time.. And we had some duration.. We shook for a good 30-45 seconds........

Since nothing short of a tornado running right thru the house will impress us here in Oklahoma, We ran around laughing and thougt it was quite the thrill ride..The only damage appears to be fixable with a hammer and some new nails.......

But I was impressed....

In my recollection we never had an earthquake in Oklahoma till Lindy and I were married. That's when all the fun started...
