Just a reminder

When out riding with other bikers do not forget to ride your own ride. Keep your pride in check and do not try to keep up with a faster rider. I was out riding with 5 other bikes yesterday and 2 of them veered over the double yellow with oncoming traffic. These were seasoned riders trying to keep up with a superior machine. Luckily all ended well, But it could have ended differently. So, Ride your own ride and enjoy at your pace.

This hasn't happened to me (i.e, a group ride) yet, but I know it will. I pray that when that day comes I will have the maturity to not try to keep up with the big boys, but stay back where I belong, given my present skills. 10 years ago I might have tried to keep up; now, I'm willing to be the last one in and take a few good-natured comments about it.

Thanks for the reminder.
